Therapies
We have a core service for Speech and Language Therapy, provided through Surrey County Council. All pupils are assessed on entry and a small amount of therapy is offered for those pupils who are identified by the Speech and Language team as needing direct input. In addition, some pupils may require an Individual Pupil Agreement package, which is requested through the Annual Review process and is put in place only once the Local Authority has approved this.
Some pupils have Occupational Therapy (OT) listed as part of their educational provision and, while there is no core service, we do have a regular, allocated Occupational Therapist who delivers and reviews packages. In place of a core service, OT have provided a teacher resource pack which outlines approaches and strategies to support pupils with a basic level of OT need. We can as a school request initial assessments where strategies in the resource pack have not been effective in meeting need.
